Sustainability connects: Treptow-Köpenick and Teepebaşı at the festival
A real festival of sustainability-the district of Treptow-Köpenick experienced this at the first sustainability festival of its Turkish twin town Eskişehir-Teepebaşı! On October 31 and November 1, 2024, the delegation from Berlin was on site to strengthen the deep gang between the two cities and to exchange innovative ideas for a greener future.
A group of committed managers, including the heads behind the "Clean Up Trepnick" initiative and the "Haus der Transformation" project from the University of Technology and Economy, showed how cooperation works across borders. There were high-ranking representatives for the Treptow-Köpenick district office, including a building expert for accessibility.
intensive conversations and creative workshops
The festival was not just a place for exchange, but also became a melting pot for creative ideas! During the event, exciting workshops together with various non -governmental organizations from Eskişehir took place, where concrete steps to promote sustainability were developed.
Particularly outstanding: two captivating short films about the responsible handling of water resources! They sparked passionate discussions among the participants and raised awareness of such an important topic. Another highlight of the festival was the joint development of a manifest that was ultimately signed - an impressive sign of the collaboration!
a long -term partnership
The roots of friendship between Treptow-Köpenick and Teepebaşı go back to 2010, but in 2017 this connection was officially levied to the city twinning. Since then, the exchange in the areas of culture, education and sustainable development has been thriving. The highlight for the delegation from Turkey was the festival for diversity and sustainability, in which they took part in Treptow-Köpenick on September 20, 2024-further proof of the living partnership!
