Garbage problem in Treptow-Köpenicks Grünanlagen: challenges and solutions

A variety of challenges related to the pollution of green areas in Treptow-Köpenick is burdening the district office with considerable additional expenses. This could be avoided if conduct rules were considered more. It often happens that rules of conduct in green areas are not observed, be it for convenience or ignorance. For example, cycling is only allowed on the ways marked. Grilling and bathing are also only permitted in designated areas to protect the vegetation. The regulatory office demands regular controls in the green areas to maintain public order. In the long term, however, a stronger sense of responsibility of each individual is necessary to keep the parks of Treptow-Köpenick usable in the long term.

It is pointed out that all park rules can be found in an understandable language on the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment website. The citizens are invited to find out about the applicable rules in order to actively contribute to maintaining the green areas.
