Lower reduction at the Berlin outer ring: the results of the feasibility examination presented
In a current press release, the results of a feasibility investigation (MU) were presented, which deals with planned measures to reduce noise along the eastern Berlin outer ring. The Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, in cooperation with the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment and DB Infrago AG, has commissioned a noise report in order to reduce the noise pollution for the residents along the Karower Kreis section.
The investigation has checked various noise reduction measures on the railway lines for their eligibility within the framework of the federal government's voluntary noise rehabilitation program. The current planning provides for the construction of approximately 23 kilometers of noise protection walls (2 and 3 meters high) and about 19 kilometers of rail bars. These measures are intended to bring a significant noise relief for the residents of the entire study section.
In addition to the presentation of the results, the press release also offers an outlook on upcoming steps. Interested citizens have the opportunity to take part in two public presentation dates:
- June 26, 2024, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., DB Infrago AG, Granitzstraße 55, 13189 Berlin
-June 27, 2024, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Anna-Segher's school, Radickestraße 43, 12489 Berlin
The admission to the events begins at 5:30 p.m. to give the participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the documents in advance. For organizational preparation, a short registration is requested at the Consalt GmbH support office, by email to info@konsalt.de or by phone at (040) 357 527-0.
These measures are an important step to improve the quality of life of the residents along the eastern Berlin outer ring and reduce the noise pollution. It remains to be seen how the plans will be implemented in practice and what effects you will have on site.
