Art interview with Tomoko Mori: New paper work in Berlin gallery

On Saturday, April 13th at 4:00 p.m., a conversation between the artist Tomoko Mori and the art scientist Birgit Effinger will take place in the Adlershof Gallery in the Alte School Cultural Center. Tomoko Mori's work is characterized by her intuitive approach to images, associations and impressions, which expresses it in drawings, sketches, large -format paintings and spacious installations. By using various techniques and formats in its abstract compositions, it shows a preference for details, an ambivalent joke and a game with familiar motifs that stimulate the viewer for association.

In the upcoming conversation, Tomoko Mori will talk about her latest paper work, which have been created for the exhibition and react to the generous architecture of the former schoolaula. Furthermore, she will explain her penchant for ambivalent work titles and the interaction between word and image, which is fundamental for many of her works. The exhibition "Double Frequency" by Tomoko Mori and Bernd Kerkin will be shown in the Adlershof gallery until May 25, 2024. Opening times are Tuesday to Thursday from 12 to 7 p.m., Fridays from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the exhibition is free.

Tomoko Mori, born in Hokkaido, Japan in 1982, has made a name for herself internationally as an artist and her works have already been presented in numerous galleries and exhibition rooms worldwide. With the exhibition, the Adlershof gallery has established itself as an important venue for contemporary art and regularly attracts visitors from all over the region.
