Cultural Center Ratz-Fatz in Schöneweide is looking for new operators!
The district of Treptow-Köpenick in Berlin recently presented an important concern that will affect the cultural landscape in the Schöneweide district. The administration is looking for a new organization that will operate the Ratz-Fatz cultural center in Schnellstraße 81 from January 1, 2025. The district, represented by the Office for further training and culture, expects the future operator to set up a diverse cultural offer for the population.
The search for a new operator takes place in the context of an expression procedure, which has the goal of promoting the cultural participation of all population groups. The selection is made on the basis of a setting up usage concept.
cultural diversity in focus
The planned concept should take into account various aspects of culture and art. The following points are in particular in the foreground:
- Development and securing of a broad artistic and cultural offer in Schönweide,
- Promotion of artists,
- Long-term support of professional art and cultural projects,
- Help for voluntary cultural projects, including the support of cultural associations,
- Takeover of a cabaret for music and theater performances,
- Construction of cooperation with other cultural institutions in the Schöneweide social area and beyond.
It is also important that existing priorities are preserved in the cultural center, insofar as they can be integrated into future concepts. The current developments of the resident population and special needs in the neighborhood are decisive.
The official tender for the procedure will be published by the end of September 2024. Interested operators have time to submit their applications by October 31, 2024. From these submissions, the district will select suitable concepts in order to then have in -depth conversations with the submissions.
