Königsheideweg and Johannisthaler Chaussee: repair in the Easter holidays
The road and green space office plans to carry out urgently needed maintenance work on two road sections in Berlin during the Easter holidays in 2024. The Königsheideweg between Haushoferstrasse and Johannisthaler Chaussee as well as the Johannisthaler Chaussee are renovated due to frost damage and security concerns. The Royal Sheideweg's roadway has numerous damage that required a reduction in maximum speed to 30 km/h. Due to the chosen construction with an open -pore asphalt on the Johannisthaler Chaussee, extensive damage also occurred, which is why the road cover layer is urgently needed.
The construction work is carried out during the Easter holidays under full closure and at the same time in order to keep restrictions on public transport as low as possible. A later repair would be associated with significantly higher costs. During the construction work, a large -scale diversion is signposted to drive the traffic around the construction sites. Bus lines 265 and X11 are redirected, while cycling and foot traffic are not affected. Emergency and emergency vehicles continue to pass through.
The construction period depends on the weather conditions. The aim is to carry out the work from March 25th to April 6, 2024. The measures are unnecessary to ensure the security and condition of the streets in the long term.
In the following table, further details on the construction work are listed:
| Street | Section | Measure | Derinations |
| ———————- | --—————————————————————————— |
| Königsheideweg | Haushoferstrasse - Johannisthaler Chaussee | Lace repair | Redirection for bus lines 265 |
| Johannisthaler Chaussee | entire section of the street | Renew the lane cover layer | Revision for bus line X11 |
The repair work is of great importance for traffic safety in Berlin and will help to maintain the street infrastructure in the long term.
