Climate change and psyche: Protection against the consequences - lecture by Prof. Dr. med. Mazda Adli
In Germany, rising temperatures and extreme weather events are increasingly to be observed, which has a direct impact on our daily life. Climate change not only causes ecological problems, but also has an impact on our mental health. The changes in our habitat can trigger fears of loss of a healthy environment and impair our emotional well -being.
In order to clarify the connection between climate change and mental health and to present consequences for the protection of the psyche, on June 26, 2024 a free lecture by Prof. Dr. med. Mazda Adli, a renowned psychiatrist and psychotherapist, take place. Prof. Adli is the chief physician of the Fliedner Klinik Berlin and stress researcher at the Charité - University Medicine Berlin. In addition, he is a member of the task force "climate change and mental health" of the German Society for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Nerve medicine (DGPPN) and co -author of the Berlin declaration, which summarizes the need for action to protect mental health.
The event is organized and carried out as part of the creation of the heat protection concept for the Treptow-Köpenick district by the quality development, planning and coordination office for health (QPK).
