Anniversary at the Müggelsee: Celebrate the poetry friends with reading and music!
12 years ago, the foundation of a community of poetry fans took place at the Müggelsee, which pursues the goal of integrating poetry more into everyday life. Inspired by the traditional Friedrichshagen poet colony, a lively poetry scene developed, which is now represented by the association "Friedrichshagener Vers-Werkstatt". This Friday, June 20, 2025, the community celebrates its anniversary with the reading "Forever young - thanks to poetry!" In the Kiezklub Vital in Berlin-Friedrichshagen, a central meeting point for people who are enthusiastic about poetry.The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and is moderated by Dagmar Neidigk and Mischka Dammaschke. The reading is accompanied musically by Carsten Rowald, the folk music. Admission is free, registration is required on 030/90297-3610. The association, which has existed since 2015 and currently has around 20 active members, was in 2013 by Dr. Horst Rennhack and Ulrich Stahr founded. Anke Apt, who has headed the club since 2024, is fighting for the various topics of poetry - such as love, homeland, loss, age, hope and change - to be perceived in public.

The regular workshop afternoons and public readings are an integral part of club life. Four anthologies have also been published in recent years, and contributions have been published in the Köpenick art calendar of the Grünstraße gallery for eleven years. This continuous work shows the commitment of the poet community to integrate poetry into the broader culture and to create a space for creative forms of expression.
The roots of the Friedrichshagen poet colony go back to the late 19th century, as a group of poets, artists and publicists of naturalism from 1888/89 in the houses of Wilhelm Bölsche and Bruno Wille met. Gerhart Hauptmann's settlement in Erkner contributed to the creation of this circle, which, however, was dissolved after the departure of Bölsches in 1893. Later, in 1962, the "New Friedrichshagener Dichterkreis" was launched again by Johannes Bobrowski and Manfred Bieler.

It offers an extensive monthly program and organizes the Zebra Poetry Film Festival, one of the largest in Europe, which is one of the oldest poetry film festivals worldwide. Lyikline, a unique platform for poetry, is also part of this network that supports the mediation of German -language poetry and international poets.
