Hauck Plümpe open a new branch in Berlin
On Friday, June 21, 2024, the exhibition "branch" by Hauck Plümpe will be opened in the Gallery in the Johannisthal town hall. The artist interior duo, consisting of Alice Hauck and Amelie Plümpe, has been dealing with the examination of interfaces between model and architecture as well as logistics systems in industry and everyday life for six years. With your modular modular system you can implement constantly changing room installations and sculptures. Materials such as MDF, ceramics, steel, concrete and styrodur are used, with each module being provided with an individual article number.
The staging in the gallery in the Johannisthal town hall includes movable modules on assembly line objects that accompany the visitors interactively through the exhibition area. Hauck Plümpe reflect on topics such as mass production and artistic authorship with irony. The exhibition is made by district councilor Marco Brauchmann and gallery manager Dr. des. Meta Marina Beeck opened. In addition, the performer and author Olga Hohmann will put the branch into operation as part of a performance.
The artistinnenduo was able to win the art-amb construction competition for the Kulturzentrum Alte School in Berlin-Adlershof in 2022. The outdoor sculpture "HP_M_A_001" has been standing there for a year. On Wednesday, September 4th, the outer sculpture will be designed and inaugurated as part of a children's workshop.
