Das Bezirksamt Treptow-Köpenick informiert über eine feierliche Jugendweihe, die heute im FEZ-Berlin stattfinden wird. Die Jugendweihe wird vom Jugendweihe Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. organisiert und von Herrn Oliver Igel, dem Bezirksbürgermeister von Treptow-Köpenick, mit einer Festrede begleitet. The youth consecration is organized by the youth consecration Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. and accompanied by Mr. Oliver Igel, the district mayor of Treptow-Köpenick. The youth consecration marks the transition from young people from the child to adult and is designed with various show acts and artists, including the band Lima, dance groups and percussion performances, as well as radio presenter Benjamin Hantschke as a moderator.

This year 1,200 young people celebrate their youth consecration in 16 festive events on 8 Saturdays, for which a total of around 10,000 guests are expected. The Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. youth consecration is dedicated to promoting the youth consecration as a secular life celebration and has helped thousands of young people and their families to celebrate this important milestone in life. For the year 2024, the association plans to receive a total of around 26,000 guests for the youth consecration and, in addition to the festive events, also offers offers of open youth work for twelve to sixteen years.

The youth consecration has a long tradition in Germany and is seen as a non-religious celebration of transition to adulthood. In the course of history, the consecration of youth has developed from a politically motivated event in the GDR to a permanently established custom in society that solemnly commits young people to enter the world of adults. Through show acts, music and speeches, the youngsters offer a special celebration that supports them on their way to adult life.
