Drainage problems delay construction work in Florian-Geyer-Strasse
delays during construction work on Florian-Geyer-Straße due to material test
The construction work on Florian-Geyer-Strasse was temporarily stopped. The infiltration of the gravel material for the planned Cheops pavement could not be confirmed in laboratory tests, which delayed the installation of the support layer. Together with the executing company, a solution is currently being worked on in order to ensure the necessary infiltration and to be able to resume the construction work.
In Florian-Geyer-Straße, drainage facilities such as enema and pipelines are missing. It was therefore decided to use Cheops plaster, similar to the neighboring section Dörpfeldstraße to Altheider Straße, in order to have rainwater seeped through the joints of the paving. Efficient drainage is important for traffic safety.
The current construction work is on schedule, but the public is informed about any delays if the construction period should be significantly extended.
During the construction period, the adjacent properties remain accessible on foot. The street and green space office also emphasizes that emergency and emergency vehicles have access to the road at any time so that they can react quickly if necessary.
