Discover Köpenick: Guided bike tour through the Nazi history on the Müggelsee

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, citizens have the opportunity to take part in a special bike tour to the southern part of Lake Müggel. The event, organized by the VVN-BDA Köpenick, the Center for Democracy and the Documentation Center Nazi Work, aims to inform about the history of Köpenick during the Nazi era.
The participants will stop at various stations and inform with short inputs about rare stories of workers, resistant, political opposition and forced laborers. The planned stops include the original location of the Kuhlen Wampe, Berliner Bürgerbräu AG, the former concentration camp in Müggelheim and the former passage camp in Wilhelmshagen.
The bike tour will start at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Union cinema in S Friedrichshagen and last about 4 hours before it ends at S Wilhelmshagen. It is important to note that the event is not barrier -free and a certain physical fitness is required to take part in the tour.
This guided bike tour around the Müggelsee is part of a series of events on historical-political educational work in Treptow-Köpenick and offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the past of the region and to actively deal with history.
