Invitation to active in Treptow-Köpenick: Opportunities for volunteers on September 17, 2024

On September 17, 2024, an important event will take place in the Citizens' Hall of the Old School Cultural Center in Berlin, which will bring citizens together between the age of 66 and those interested in volunteering.

The event actively in Treptow-Köpenick is an annual initiative that aims to show people after their professional life. Here the focus is in particular on volunteering - an activity that proves to be a valuable opportunity for many to make their own free time meaningful and at the same time exercise a positive impact on the community.

The impetus for this event comes from Carolin Weingart, the district councilor for social affairs, health, work and participation. The meeting takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is an opportunity for all participants to receive information about various opportunities for volunteering and exchange ideas with like -minded people.

The time associated with professional life not only separates a routine for many Germans, but also a new phase of life full of opportunities. Whether someone wants to use the time won for trips, hobbies or volunteer commitment - the decision is personal, and it is important to be informed about options.

A special highlight of the event is the award ceremony "Stern of the Year". This prize is awarded to three individuals or initiatives that have been committed to a respectful and diverse Treptow-Köpenick. This shows how important the use for others and the promotion of a harmonious coexistence.

The honorary office of the Office for Social Affairs organizes the event in cooperation with the Starfischer volunteer center. In addition to the award ceremony, the participants can expect a wide range of information in which questions about the different possibilities of engagement are also answered.

The registration is necessary because the places for the event are limited. Interested parties should contact the office by email to reserve their place. Anyone who is prevented on September 17 has the opportunity to find out more about the volunteer office and receive support if you have any questions.

The volunteer office looks after more than 340 volunteers who are active in different social commissions and regularly organizes training and thanks. It is an important resource for everyone who wants to get socially involved.

The commitment of the citizens not only strengthens the community, but also enriches one's own life. It is therefore of great importance to promote such events and to enable the exchange about the diverse possibilities of volunteering.
