a new cooperation at the first colonia festival in Altglienicke

Last Saturday, July 13th, the ColoniaPark in Altglienicke experienced a premiere - the first colonia festival. This event, organized by Benn Altglienicke and the Kiezbund Altglienicke, was all about the neighborhood and cohesion.

The idea for this festival was born to raise public space and promote encounters between the generations. Supported by the street and green space office, the park became a meeting point for the entire community.

Around 15 social institutions and actors contributed to this colorful, which offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy non -alcoholic cocktails, hot dogs and cakes free of charge. Various activities such as face painting, handicrafts and musical performances provided enthusiasm among the guests.

A highlight of the day was the appearance of the Berlin band Jumpin`pete & Berlin All-Stars, who with her music rounded off the festival perfectly. The presence of district mayor Oliver Igel underlined the importance of the festival for the community in Altglienicke.

Without the commitment of the residents and the support of the street and green space office, such a festival would not have been possible. The colonia festival is an example of successful cooperation between actors, residents and administration.
