Berlin expands charging options: lantern load points for electric cars
according to a report by www.berlin.de ,
A powerful charging infrastructure network is a central prerequisite for facilitating the switch to the electric car. In addition to the private areas, the public parking spaces are also important for the expansion of charging points. The district of Treptow-Köpenick is now experiencing a significant increase in charging options in public spaces for the first time this year. If there were only 30 charging points in this area in 2022, 49 lantern load points were put into operation in 2023 alone. Over 50 other locations could be added by the weather -related feasibility by the end of the year.
The loading points on street lamps have a charging system with an output of 3.7 kilowatts and are therefore primarily attached to places where electric cars can stand longer and, for example, be loaded overnight.
The district of Treptow-Köpenick plans to expand the public charging infrastructure for electric cars by 2030. Corresponding overviews of publicly accessible charging infrastructure for electric vehicles can be found in the Berlin Energy Atlas and the Geoportal Berlin ( fis broker). The latest commissioning of the past two months have not yet been included, but are supplemented by the Berlin main administration.
The Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment is responsible for the expansion of the charging infrastructure in public space and has set the Berlin planning approach. Between the district and the Senate there is a vote on the selected locations. It is planned to build 126 AC and DC loading points by 2030 and up to two quick charging boys by the Berlin Stadtwerke Kommunalpartner GmbH.
