Tram connection between Karlshorst and Oberschöneweide soon back!

An der Wuhlheide, 12459 Berlin, Deutschland - The Berlin tram connection between Karlshorst and Oberschöneweide is faced with recovery. According to the Berliner Zeitung possibly run again on Ascension. The reason for the interruption of the connection was the blocking of the bridge crossing on the Wuhlheide, which took place nine days ago.

The demolition of the previous bridge, which was released for traffic in 1989, took place faster than originally planned. The order for the demolition was awarded to the construction company Strabag on May 22nd, and the work began on May 24th. This measure was necessary due to various problems with the bridge, including concrete cancer and constructive deficits. The bridge, which had a total length of 243 meters and was built by the state-owned operation, was heavily damaged due to the alkali-silicic acid reaction.

Restoration of the tram connection

After receiving the approval by the Senate, BVG construction team can now restore the route in the intersection area. The BVG plans the reopening of the M17, 21, 27 and 37 tram lines. The necessary preparations include test drives to check the covered tracks as well as the reconstruction of the overhead lines and the establishment of the power supply.

noise -intensive night work

In addition to the work on the Wuhlheide, noise will be carried out from May 26th to May 29th, as well as from June 2 to 4, 2025, as from the Senate management for the environment, transport and climate protection announced. During this time, the noise level can reach up to 84 dB (A), with short -term maximum levels up to 87 dB (a).

For the residents who are affected by this work, information letters are sent. With an assessment level of 65 dB (A) or more or top levels over 75 dB (A), an offer for reimbursement for replacement apartments is provided. The buildings on Wuhlheide as well as parts of Roedernstraße and Zeppelinstrasse are affected, among other things.

With the upcoming re -commissioning of the tram connection and the ongoing construction work, Berlin shows itself again, once more than a city of change in which the infrastructure is constantly undergoing improvements - even if this temporarily entails restrictions for residents and traffic.
