Thomas Krüger again President: Focus on children's rights in Berlin
In an impressive step, Thomas Krüger encouraged the members of the German Children's Aid Work at the latest meeting with clear words and was again elected as president! The 65-year-old, who has been fighting with passion for the rights of the children since 1995, remains at the top of this important organization.
Sure as the sky over Berlin: Yes, the vice presidents Anne Lütkes and Nathalie Schulze-Bente, as well as the treasurer Haimo Liebich, were confirmed in their offices. But that's not all! Blessing personalities were elected to the extended board: Mustafa Akça, Siegfried Barth, Katja Dörner, Harald Geywitz and Anja Siegesmund, as well as the members of the Bundestag Ottilie Klein, Katja Mast and Matthias Seestern-Pauly. A strong team for the future!
The voice of the children is loud!
his heart beats for the children-and he also shows that in his re-election speech. "As a child rights organization, we are extremely concerned about democracy development in Germany," Krüger made it clear. In view of the crises that burden our society, such as climate change and the increasingly endangered education systems, it is no wonder that many young people feel the feeling of fainting. But suddenly the glimmer of hope flashes: the political interest among the youth has increased in a leapstm way! But, without real opportunities for co -determination, trust in democracy remains in danger.
In addition, the frightening fact that only five percent of children and adolescents can have a say in municipal decisions nationwide. It can't go on like this! For Krüger, the participation of the children is not just a mere concern-it is a fundamental right to children, anchored in the UN Convention on the Rights of Children. "There is still a lot of persuasion ahead of us," he emphasizes combative.
A startling appeal for a better future
But Krüger doesn't stop here. In order to secure democracy in the long term, he calls for sustainable support for democratic support projects, especially in structurally weak regions. Politics are obliged to strengthen the often precarious structures and create a solid basis for civil society. "An effective Democratic promotion law is essential!" He calls.
and did he feel optimism when it comes to combating child poverty? Unfortunately not! "It is high time to anchor children's rights constitutionally," explains Krüger. Children earn more: the right to development, protection and participation - not in the future, but now! It is time for the Basic Law to receive its own passage for the rights of the children, regardless of parental rights!
The choice of Thomas Krüger is not just a personnel selection - it is a sign to everyone who can and must defend the rights of our children! It remains exciting how things develop and what new paths the organization will take over in the next few years.
