The EU appointment preview provides information about upcoming appointments of the EU Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Court of Justice for Germany. On Saturday, June 1st, special campaigns will take place in the “Experience Europe” exhibition in Berlin to discuss Europe and the upcoming European elections. Among other things, participation in the Wahl-O-Mat is offered, discussion rounds with EU experts and caricatures in the EU look. The “Zamanad in Europe” event takes place in Munich, which also deals with the European elections. Here, citizens can find out more about Europe and experience European art, graffiti, street food, discussions and music. The event also marks the end of the European bus tour 2024 in Bavaria.
On Monday, June 3, the EU Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, travels to Germany for a two-day visit. She will have political talks in Berlin and attend the European Committee in the Bundestag. There she will give a speech on the balance sheet of EU co-esion policy in Germany and will take part in a press conference after a press conference. During her stay in Berlin, she will also have a bilateral conversation with Federal Minister Robert Habeck.
On Tuesday, June 4, Commissioner Ferreira visits the Free State of Saxony. There, the Saxon regional development minister is handing over funding notices to LEAG, one of the main benefits of the "fund for a fair transition" (Just Transition Fund - JTF). The funding should support the switch to a climate -neutral economy. The Commissioner then visits the BMBF future cluster "Semeco-Europe's best microelectronics for medicine" in Dresden.
On Wednesday, June 5, EU Commissioner Iliana Ivanova is on political discussions in Berlin. She will discuss in the German Bundestag with members of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment and then have a bilateral conversation with Federal Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger.
from Thursday, June 6th to Sunday, June 9th, the European elections will take place across the EU. Around 400 million people have active voting rights in these elections as EU citizens. The European elections will take place on Sunday, June 9th. German citizens and Union citizens can vote. In Germany, 96 MEPs are elected, as many as at the European elections 2019.
