Transgender Day of Visibility: District Tempelhof-Schöneberg celebrates solidarity

On March 31, the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district celebrated the transgender day of Visibility for the 15th time to honor the success and challenges of trans people. Despite social and legal hurdles, trans people still struggle with discrimination, disadvantage and violence. As a sign of solidarity, the trans flag was hoisted to show support for the trans- and queer community.

The deputy district mayor Matthias Steuckardt emphasized the importance of flag ratio that trans people should feel safe and comfortable in the district. He condemned hatred, violence and discrimination against trans people and emphasized the importance of a peaceful and equal coexistence, regardless of gender identity.
