Playground new design: Children design their dream oasis in Lichtenrade!

In the second half of 2024, an exciting project for redesigning the playgrounds in Nuthestrasse was launched. The opinions and ideas of children and adolescents are actively involved in the planning. On May 21, 2024, the first workshop entitled "Design your playground!" instead of. The young participants were given the opportunity to explore the future playground areas together with the planning teams and to bring their wishes and ideas.

This participatory approach aims to incorporate the needs of the users directly into the designs. The ideas collected in this workshop were integrated into the preliminary design planning, which was presented on June 26, 2024 in a consultation hour of the Lichtenrade Bahnhofstrasse active center. Here, interested residents had the opportunity to give further suggestions and to share their thoughts on the plans.

Based on the proposals received, an evaluation took place in cooperation with the commissioned landscape architecture firms. These valuable feedback now flow into the final designs, which will be presented to the public on September 19, 2024. This form of participation is particularly important in order to give the playgrounds an individual character that corresponds to the wishes of the children and young people.
