Die umfassende Sanierung der Kunstrasenplätze im Volkspark Mariendorf wurde erfolgreich abgeschlossen und die Plätze konnten nach nur 4 Monaten wiedereröffnet werden. Die Investitionssumme von rund 499.000 Euro aus dem Sportstättensanierungsprogramm wurde genutzt, um die Sanierung in Rekordzeit umzusetzen. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen der beauftragten Fachfirma und dem Fachbereich Grünflächen des Straßen- und Grünflächenamtes Tempelhof-Schöneberg trug maßgeblich zum schnellen Abschluss bei. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein flitzten die kleinen Fußballer des TSV Mariendorf 1897 e.V. über die frisch sanierten Plätze und konnten es kaum erwarten, wieder spielen zu dürfen.
