Audience award for film about biodiversity at LA46 film festival
The film "What is biodiversity?" was awarded the audience award at the first film festival "La46". This short film was created as part of the "Green School", a natural education offer from the Marienfelde nature conservation station, in which children aged seven to twelve years of age can acquire environmental knowledge and are able to get involved as "junior rangers". Under the direction of Nicole Peuker, the junior rangers dealt with the importance of insects for nature conservation last summer and developed the idea for the award-winning film.
At the film festival "La46", films of all genres and age groups could be submitted as long as they had a connection to the Southwest Berliner. The film of the junior rangers prevailed against 19 other contributions in the "Audience Award" category. At the award ceremony in the Lankwitzer Thalia-Kino, youth councilor Oliver Schworck congratulated the Naturranger Björn Lindner, the team and the junior rangers involved.
The concept of the Nature Conservation Station Marienfelde to introduce children to complex environmental issues through experience -oriented education has been successfully implemented for many years. The film "What is biodiversity?" shows the world from the perspective of insects and sensitizes the effects of monocultures and pesticides on the environment. The film is available on the website of the nature conservation station, while information about the Film Festival can be found on the LA46 film festival page.
