urban development on Potsdamer Straße: Cooperation agreement between the districts of Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Mitte signed

In a pioneering decision, the districts of Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Mitte jointly signed a cooperation agreement on urban development on Potsdamer Strasse. This step marks the beginning of comprehensive cooperation in order to improve the quality of life in this area and to actively counteract the urban development challenges.

The area on Potsdamer Straße faces various urban challenges that need to be mastered. The high traffic strain significantly affects the quality of stay in public space. The high level of sealing is added to make matters worse, which increases the risk of flooding in heavy rain. In addition, institutions of the social infrastructure have to be adapted to new needs, while the problem of road prostitution and its side effects have existed for some time.

In order to meet these challenges and to maintain and expand the functional diversity of the area, the two districts and the Senate Administration for Urban Development, Building and Living have decided to promote the area as part of the "Living Centers and Quarters" funding program.

A central component of the project is the comprehensive participation of the public. By integrating the resident and interested parties into the planning process, it is intended to ensure that the planned measures meet the needs and wishes of the community. The aim is to preserve the functional diversity of the area and to promote sustainable urban development.

The examination area extends along Potsdamer Straße and the adjacent blocks from the Landwehr Canal to Goebenstrasse. The northern part of the area belongs to the district of Mitte and the southern part to the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district.

By signing the cooperation agreement, the districts laid the foundation for effective cooperation in this cross -border area. While the district office Mitte takes on the leading organizational role in creating the integrated urban development concept (ISEK), both districts actively actively participate in the content. Regular information on information and close cooperation are crucial in order to successfully implement the goals of the project.

Further information on this groundbreaking project is available on the project list from Mein.berlin.de. The community can be excited to see how this cooperation will positively influence the urban development on Potsdamer Straße.
