New semester at the VHS Tempelhof-Schöneberg: Diversity for everyone!
meaningful educational offers at the VHS Tempelhof-Schöneberg in the new semester
The Volkshochschule (VHS) Tempelhof-Schöneberg heralded a new semester in early September 2024 that offers a variety of learning opportunities for the community. With over 1100 courses, the VHS represents an important part of the district's educational landscape and in particular also promotes topics of sustainability that are of great relevance today.
Particularly noteworthy is the introduction of 3D printing courses , which were developed in cooperation with the Theodor Heuss library. This innovative technology opens up new perspectives for creative projects and professional qualifications. In addition, the VHS stands for a sustainable lifestyle, recognizable by courses for sustainable gardeners and upcycling. The topic is central because it helps individuals and companies to work more environmentally conscious and resource -saving.
Another progress in this semester is the expansion of the language offer . The new beginner course for Korean enables the participants to learn an exciting language. Especially for volunteers , additional free courses in Farsi and Ukrainian are offered to meet the needs of refugee people in the region.
The VHS also relies on an inclusive education, which becomes clear through the “Erw.in” project. Special courses for people with cognitive restrictions that are conveyed in simple language are offered. This promotes participation and learning in a supportive environment.
In the area of integration, two German courses for women were initiated in the community accommodation Airport Tempelhof. This offer closes an important gap for those who have no access to language support outside the accommodation. In addition, the AWO home management ensures care for children, which enables women to concentrate undisturbed on learning.
To promote practical skills, the VHS offers an open learning workshop for reading and writing , which adult participants benefit with low reading and writing skills. This inclusive initiative testifies to a social commitment that makes education accessible to everyone.
In addition, there will soon be exciting short workshops in cooperation with the consumer advice center. These treat essential issues such as warranty rights and pension, which are important for many citizens. Such offers are of great importance, especially at a time when knowledge of financial demands and technical developments has become essential.
In order to give more people an insight into the offers, the VHS invites you to free taster courses during the cultural summer festival. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know the variety of the program and immerse yourself in the world of learning.
