New zebra crossing and bicycle strips for more traffic safety in Boelckestrasse

In the recently completed project "Boelckestrasse cycling lanes", measures were taken to improve cycling and foot traffic and implement the Mobility Act. Two new crosswalks and better installation areas were installed to ensure traffic safety, especially for pupils and daycare children. Furthermore, the road was renovated in three crossing areas and in some places. The project was carried out by the district councilor Dr. Saskia Ellenbeck and Christoph Schmidt, Managing Director of GB Infravelo GmbH. Infravelo, a subsidiary of 100 percent state -owned Grün Berlin GmbH, acted as the client and implemented the measure. The project was financed both by state funds and by the special program "City and Land" of the federal government.

Creation of secure and efficient traffic routes for cycling and foot traffic is of great importance to promote mobility in urban areas. Especially in densely populated districts in which many children are on the road, measures such as the installation of zebra crossing and the renovation of roadways contribute to avoiding accidents and increasing traffic safety.

The support of the project by state funds and the special program of the federal government shows the importance that the public sector is in promoting sustainable mobility. Through targeted investments in the infrastructure, cities and municipalities can help to make traffic more efficient and safe.
