A unique and exciting call to help shape politics in Tempelhof-Schöneberg will now be published. Citizens are given the opportunity to become active as a voting member of the Committee on Participation and Integration. This invitation is aimed at everyone who is interested in influencing social issues and decisions in their district.

The committee has set itself the goal of promoting the participation of people with a history of migration and securing their equal participation in all areas of life. This is done through the active discussion and participation of the most important topics. As a member, you can submit applications, bring in concerns and have a say in order to promote changes. The committee usually meets every two months on Mondays. There are currently two places and six deputy positions.

As a prerequisite for the application, migrant organizations can submit suggestions that are registered on the public list of clubs for people with a history of migration. This list is managed by the Senate of Berlin for participation, integration and migration. The association, which submits the proposal, does not necessarily have to be based in Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Likewise, it is not necessary for the proposed person to be a member of a migrant organization.

To apply, certain information must be submitted. This includes the contact details of the applicants, a letter of motivation (a maximum of 1,000 characters, ideally with a reference to the district), optional information on the history of migration and an informal confirmation of the proposal association. These requirements are intended to ensure that the best candidates for the positions are selected.
