Our students explore the past
In a special project with the Youth Museum, students from the Johanna-Eck School explored the history of their own educational institution in an innovative way. The “Dusting School History” project has led to a fascinating work exhibition, which can now be visited in the entrance area of the school, Ringstraße 103-106, 12105 Berlin.
The cooperation began with the unexpected discovery of a mysterious folder at school, which contained many documents from the National Socialism period. These finds offered the students the unique opportunity to study the original documents and to examine their school's history together.
The work exhibition not only presents the results of its research, but also creative interpretations and works of art, which reflect on the importance and effects of these historical documents on school and society.
This initiative not only contributed to working up and understanding the past, but also raising awareness of the importance of the culture of remembrance and dealing with history. Through the personal examination of the documents, the students were able to learn important lessons about tolerance, respect and responsibility, which are also relevant for the present.
