Information event on the European election inspires students in Tempelhof-Schöneberg

An information event on the European Union and the European elections 2024 recently took place in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg city library, in which pupils from various schools in the district took part. With almost 100 young guests between the ages of 12 and 18, the response to the event was very positive. Thanks to the participation of the representation of the European Commission in Germany, the participants were able to ask the questions of Manica Hauptmann, head of the political team, on topics such as the structure of the EU, the European elections and migration.

The event took place in the impressive BVV hall in the Schöneberg town hall and was moderated by Emelie Teumer. The event lasted two hours and offered the students the opportunity to learn more about the EU and the upcoming European elections. Even after the event ended, the young guests showed interest in the information offers of the libraries and the representation of the European Commission.

This cooperation between the Tempelhof-Schöneberg city library, the Tempelhof-Schöneberg children's and youth parliament and the district of EU representatives enabled the pupils to deal with European topics and strengthen their political awareness.

As one of the most important political institutions in the world, the European Union plays a decisive role in the design of the future of Europe. The event offered the pupils the opportunity to get in touch with experts from the EU and to learn more about the functionality of the EU.
