Diversity flag: Tempelhof-Schöneberg celebrates the day of bisexuality

In an impressive sign of diversity and color, the district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg on the Bisexuality Day raised the flag of bisexuality in front of the Schöneberg town hall. District Mayor Jörn Oltmann and the Biberlin e.V. association are determined to carry this message of tolerance and acceptance out loud and clearly into the world.

"Bisexual people are an essential part of the queer community and deserve recognition!" Emphasized Oltmann with enthusiasm. "It is time for us to appreciate their existence. Bisexuality is not a fleeting phase, but a stable, legitimate sexual orientation." On this special day, the flag is not only hoisted as a colorful symbol, but as a powerful statement for love and freedom. "Our district radiates openness and tolerance - in harmony with our motto: Love, whoever you want!" He added and thus aroused the attention of everyone present.

a day of historical importance

The Bisexuality Day originated in 1999 when courageous civil rights activists in the United States launched this important occasion. Your goal? Also to recognize the bisexual people as equivalent sexual orientation and to draw attention to them. This underlines the importance of the event for the entire queer community and beyond.

Did you know that bisexuality is the third largest sexual orientation? It stands on par with heterosexuality and homosexuality and describes attraction to both women and men in an emotional, sexual or romantic way. Bisexual people often live in relationships that are led with both women and men and are sometimes even polyamor - i.e. with several partners at the same time, in mutual agreement.

a district for all

Tempelhof-Schöneberg makes it unequivocally clear: there is space for all sexual orientations here! The raging of the flag is not just a festive event, but a powerful commitment to an open and respectful society in which everyone, regardless of their sexual identity, is accepted and appreciated.

In times when visibility and recognition are more in demand than ever, the flag caves is a shining example of how important it is to celebrate everyone in their identity. Tempelhof-Schöneberg is proud to be at the top of this movement and sends a clear message: Diversity is our strength!
