Berlin: Bülowstraße is sealed and green - district is relating to sustainable measures for more green and insect protection.

according to a report by www.berlin.de Tempelhof-Schöneberg (SGA TS) completed the sealing measures and extensions of the tree slices on Bülowstrasse. Former parking space and parts of the sidewalk were sealed on a total of 900 square meters to create insect -friendly areas. In addition, the drainage of the sidewalks was partially decoupled from the road to let precipitation flow into the dismissed areas.

As a Berlin citizen, I welcome these measures that contribute to improving urban microclimate and promoting biodiversity. The removal of areas and the creation of green areas are important steps to adapt to climate change and to create a more livable city.

Yesterday's official opening of the space took place at an inspection with district councilor Saskia Ellenbeck, employees of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office, the Berlin rainwater agency and interested citizens. District City Councilor Ellenbeck emphasized the importance of removal measures and tree disc extensions for climate adjustment in Berlin. She pointed out that these measures can be implemented decentrally and contribute to a greener cityscape.

As a citizen of Berlin, I am happy to see the efforts of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office to seal and green the urban areas in order to create a more livable environment. The measures not only contribute to adaptation to climate change, but also create natural habitats for insects and other living things.
