Telekom contradicts Höcke's advertising-slogan claim
Deutsche Telekom has rejected an assertion by the AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and examines legal steps. During a TV duel, Höcke claimed that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying a few years ago. Telekom rejected this claim to be wrong and announced that it would take legal action.
The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the SA (storm department), a paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer for the allegation of using indicators in Halle next week before the district court in Halle.
Last year, Telekom had already acted against the AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel, who also claimed that the sentence in question had been an earlier advertising slogan of the company. Telekom had asked Weidel to refrain from this statement, and she had promised to refrain from doing so in the future.
Höcke, who is a history teacher himself, defended his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that he did not know that the slogan used was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying". However, Telekom insists that the claims of Höcke and Weidel regarding the advertising slogan do not correspond to the truth and is considering further legal steps.
