Telekom contradicts Höcke: Werbeslogan was a Nazi slogan
Deutsche Telekom has rejected the assertion of the AfD politician Björn Höcke about an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and is considering legal steps. During a TV duel against CDU politician Mario Voigt, Höcke claimed that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" a few years ago. Telekom made it clear that this claim was wrong and passed the case on to its lawyers.
The sentence "Everything for Germany" is a forbidden slogan of the Sturm Department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer for the allegation of using indicators in Halle next week.
Telekom had already taken legal action against AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year after making similar false claims about the company's advertising slogan. Weidel was asked to refrain from these claims in the future.
Höcke, who is a history teacher himself, justified his use of the controversial sentence in the TV duel and claimed that he did not know that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying". However, Telekom remains in its position and continues to check the legal steps against Höcke's false claims.
