Telekom contradicts Höcke: Everything for Germany never
Deutsche Telekom rejects an assertion by AfD politician Björn Höcke that the company in the past has used the slogan "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying. A telecom spokesman emphasized that this statement was wrong and legal steps were to be examined. It is a forbidden solution of the SA, the paramilitary organization of the NSDAP. Höcke will be charged next week before the district court in Halle because of the use of license plates.
Telekom had already taken legal action against AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel in the previous year after making similar statements. Weidel was asked to refrain from this claims, whereupon she said to do so in the future. During a TV duel, Höcke defended his use of the saying in question and claimed that he did not know that it was a SA slogan. He described it as a "common saying".
Telekom reacts resolved against the spread of false claims regarding their advertising slogans and takes legal action in order to take action against the spread of historically stressed slogans. Höcke has to answer in court and explain why he used a forbidden solution. The discussion between political representatives and companies regarding the use of historically stressed terms shows the sensitivity of the topic and the need to take a closer look at historical contexts.
