Telekom defends itself against false Höcke claim

Deutsche Telekom has rejected a statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and is considering legal steps. Höcke claimed in a TV duel with the CDU politician Mario Voigt that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" a few years ago. A company spokesman described this claim as wrong and announced legal steps.

The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the so -called storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer for the allegation of using indicators in Halle next week.

Telekom had already taken steps against AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year after making similar statements. Weidel was asked to refrain from her claim, which she said. Höcke defended his choice of words in the TV duel and stated that he did not know during the speech that it was a SA slogan, since it was a "common saying" in his opinion.
