Telekom builds the mobile phone supply in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin

Telekom has further improved the mobile phone supply in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in the past two months. In addition to a newly built location, two existing locations with 5G were also expanded. This expansion leads to better mobile phone coverage in the region and increases the available range overall. This also improves the reception in buildings. The locations are located in the municipalities of Neuruppin and Wusterhausen/Dosse. The location in Neuruppin is also responsible for supplying along the Brandenburg-Nord-Berlin railway lines.

The need for bandwidth grows steadily, around 30 percent per year. Therefore, Telekom continues the expansion of the mobile phone network, ”says Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom.

status and future plans

Telekom currently operates 72 mobile phone locations in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district. The supply of households is already almost 100 percent. A further 29 locations are to be added by 2025. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 36 radio masts.

Telekom is dependent on cooperation with the municipalities or owners in order to rent suitable areas for new locations. The German radio tower is responsible for the construction of Telekom's mobile communications locations. More than 36,000 mobile phone locations are currently operated by Telekom.
