Improvement of mobile phone infrastructure in the Harz district: progress and its importance for the community

The efforts to improve mobile phone supply are an important topic for many regions of Germany, especially in rural areas. Deutsche Telekom has recently made significant progress in the district of Harz by building new locations and expanding existing ones. This initiative aims to cover the increasing need for bandwidth and mobile phone connections.

In this context, a new mobile phone location was built within two months and two more was equipped with LTE technology. Deutsche Telekom, which is expanding the cover in the region, is responsible for this expansion. These measures have not only improved mobile phone coverage in the area, but also increased the reception quality in buildings. The municipalities that benefit from these improvements are Halberstadt with two locations and the town of Pansfelde. This is particularly important for the residents and commuters, since the rail connection along the Saxony-Anhalt-Süd route is also optimized.

"The need for bandwidth is increasing and is currently around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue our mobile phone expansion with a high priority," explains Georg von Wagner, the company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, the background to this expansion.

In order to further advance the expansion, Telekom plans to set up 56 additional locations in the region by 2026 and to expand 54 radio masts either to LTE or 5G. The company currently operates a total of 116 locations in the Harz district, which corresponds to an impressive budget coverage of around 99 percent. This development strategy shows how important telecommunications are for the daily quality of life of the citizens.

Deutsche Telekom, however, rely on cooperation with local municipalities and property owners in order to find necessary areas for new locations. This is a challenge that requires cross -community partnerships. Interested owners who want to offer space can contact the German radio tower, which is responsible for the construction of the mobile phone locations.

The continuous improvement of the infrastructure is not only important for Telekom, but also for the entire region. Mobile communications play a crucial role in today's society and not only make personal communication easier, but also support business, education and social interaction.

For more information about mobile phone availability in the Harz district, citizens can visit the Deutsche Telekom website. Due to the access to more extensive information about network covers, transparency increases and raised awareness of the importance of a powerful mobile phone supply.

Developments in the Harz district are an example of the broad trend towards digitization in rural regions, which are often faced with challenges. The progress in mobile phone supply shows how important modern communication infrastructures are for the future of the local community.
