Telekom counters Höcke: No everything for Germany as an advertising slogan

Deutsche Telekom has contested an assertion by the AfD politician Björn Höcke about an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and examines legal steps against him. In a TV duel with the CDU politician Mario Voigt, Höcke claimed that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying, which the company rejected as wrong. The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke has to answer in court. Telekom had already acted against the AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year, who had made similar wrong statements.

Höcke, who works as a history teacher, defended his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that during his speech he had not recognized that it was a SA slogan. He described the saying as a "common saying". Telekom previously called for Alice Weidel to refrain such false claims, whereupon it agreed to refrain from doing so in the future. Höcke will have to answer in the coming week before the regional court in Halle for accusation of using the license plate. Telekom confirmed that it checks legal steps against Höcke to refute his wrong statements.
