Telekom denies Höckes NS Parole allegations

Deutsche Telekom has rejected a statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and examines legal steps. In a TV duel with the CDU politician Mario Voigt, Höcke claimed that Telekom had used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying. Telekom confirmed that this claim was wrong and initiated legal steps.

The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer to the district court in Halle next week for accusation of using the license plate. Telekom had already acted against the AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year, who had made a similar statement.

Höcke, who is a history teacher, defended his choice of words and claimed not to know during the speech that it was a SA slogan. He described the saying as a "common saying". Telekom reacted decisively to the statements and is committed to correcting false representations in order to avert possible legal consequences.
