Telekom denies Höcke's Nazi parole: legal steps checked

Deutsche Telekom has rejected the statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke into a former advertising slogan allegedly used by the company and checks legal steps against the wrong claim. In a TV duel, Höcke claimed that Deutsche Telekom is said to have used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying a few years ago. However, Telekom stated that this statement was wrong and will take legal measures. The sentence mentioned is a forbidden slogan of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Because of his use of this slogan, Höcke has to answer in court.

It is not the first time that Telekom is doing false claims. Last year, legal steps were initiated against AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel after making similar wrong statements about Telekom's advertising saying. Telekom had asked Weidel to refrain from this claim, and she agreed to refrain from doing so in the future.

Höcke defended his choice of words in the TV duel and claimed not to know during his speech that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying". Nevertheless, he is on trial to take responsibility for the use of license plates. Telekom is determined to proceed against false claims and to protect its brand from inappropriate accusations.
