Telekom denies Höcke's Nazi slogan: Legal steps initiated
Deutsche Telekom rejected the statement by AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and examines legal steps. During a TV duel against a CDU politician, Höcke claimed that Telekom had used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying, which was described by a company spokesman.
The sentence is a forbidden solution to the Sturm Department (SA), the paramilitary organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will be held responsible for the accusation of the use of indicators of constitutional organizations next week before the district court in Halle.
In addition to the current dealing with Höcke, Telekom had already acted against the AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year, who had made a similar statement about the company's promotion. After requesting Telekom to refrain from this, Weidel had promised to avoid the claim in the future.
Höcke, who described himself as a history teacher, defended his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that during the speech he did not know that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying." It remains to be seen how the legal steps of Deutsche Telekom will develop against Höcke.
