Telekom denies AfD statement on Nazi slogans
Deutsche Telekom has the claim of the AfD politician Björn Höcke, according to which the company used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying, vigorously rejected and examines legal steps. The top candidate of the AfD for the state election in Thuringia claimed this during a TV duel against the CDU politician Mario Voigt. A telekom spokesman described the statement as wrong and announced legal steps.
The sentence "Everything for Germany" is a forbidden slogan of the Sturm Department (SA), the paramilitary organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer for the allegation of using indicators in Halle next week before the district court in Halle.
Last year, Telekom had already acted against the AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel, who had made similar claims on the company's promotion of advertising. Telekom asked Weidel to refrain from this claims, which she said. Höcke also defended his choice of words and stated that he did not know during the speech that it was a SA slogan because it was a "common saying".
