Commercial dispute solved: CFM employees achieve wage adjustment by 2030!

In a significant step to improve working conditions and payment of employees at Charité Facility Management (CFM), a step plan was agreed. According to rbb24 , the CFM employees should earn as much as their colleagues at the Charité. This agreement between the CFM management and the Verdi service union takes concrete forms, since a gradual alignment with the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD) is now provided.

For the approximately 3,500 CFM employees who work in areas such as medical technology, ambulance, cleaning and security, the implementation will be noticeable from June 2025. You will initially receive 88 percent of the TVöD and a one -time special payment of 300 euros. Year after year, salaries should increase until the full adjustment on January 1, 2030.

Background of the tariff interlocking

The tariff deflection has been going on for years. As the ver.di report, the employees had to accept less wages over the age of 2005. The difference in payment can be up to 700 euros per month. Old employees, who are still directly employed at the clinic, benefit from the better conditions of the TVöD, while newly hired colleagues often have to work under poor conditions, part -time and with fixed -term contracts.

The inadequate return of the CFM to the Charité and the unresolved problem about the employment of new employees is perceived by the union and the employees as a clear unequal treatment. The ruling mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner (CDU), spoke out for a step plan to promote the alignment of salaries, while Raed Saleh, parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the House of Representatives, also supports the demands of the workforce.

Another step in the health sector

In parallel to these developments, an agreement was recently reached in the collective bargaining for doctors at municipal hospitals. According to information from vka.de 61,000 doctors. The collective bargaining has a term of 30 months to December 31, 2026 and provides for a salary increase and improvements in working conditions.

In addition to these developments, it remains to be seen whether the recent progress can be permanently stabilized and what other measures are taken to further improve working conditions in the healthcare system. The CFM employees continue to fight for the same payment and better working conditions.
