Thuringia celebrates heroes of Sports - SV Deube e. V. beams with "big star in silver 2024"!

The stage was ready and the tension was great when the best sports clubs in Thuringia were honored on October 17, 2023 in the festive Erfurt town hall. A brilliant evening that recognized the voluntary commitment and incredible achievements of the Thuringian sports community. Who are the bright winners? SV Deube e. V. as the big winner and received the official "big star in silver"!

The jury, consisting of sports experts, journalists and representatives of the State Sports Association, awarded the association for his committed project "Building Girls Football" with a lot of enthusiasm. "It is an honor to see how much heart and commitment in these clubs are!

The honor in detail

Overall, there were great cash prizes and recognition for the best Thuringian clubs! With prize money of 2,500 euros, SV Deube e. V. in first place. The clever heads of the RFV Waldhof e. V. and TC Chemie Greiz e. V. - They landed in second and third place. The funding prices were also in great demand and went to the initiatives of SV Taltürgel e. V., Leinefeld Ju-Jutsu Verein e. V. and Karate Kwai Sondershausen e. V., all of which were honored for their outstanding projects.

"We are here to show all sports clubs how important their work is", sharpened Peter Herbst, board member of VR Bank in Thuringia eG. "We want to promote civic engagement. Active participation in clubs strengthens the cohesion in our society!"

A look into the future

The big winner, SV Deube e. V., now has the chance to take part in the Federal Exclusion! On January 20, 2025, the chance of the "Big Star in Gold", the absolute icing on German sports. The award ceremony even takes place in the presence of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin-a dream for every club!

In a top-class jury round, the board unanimously decided to honor the merits of these clubs. "The commitment of the Thuringian sports clubs is a lighthouse for our society. Your efforts to deal with topics such as integration, equality and sustainable development are a strong sign of the future," said Lutz Rösner, Vice President of the State Sports Association.
