Last weekend an event took place in the garden of the Arndt Gymnasium, which was now organized by the coordination office. Under the motto "Wildtiere in the Garden", Sophie Lokatis from the German Wildlife Foundation and Lena Assmann from the cooperation partner Grüne Liga Berlin presented a lot of exciting information on animal -friendly garden design. The participants were given the opportunity to learn more about hedgehogs, bats, snails and other garden dwellers and received practical tips for the correct feeding and care of the animals. In addition, it was discussed how this knowledge can be integrated into class and everyday garden life.
The event took place as part of the open networking format "Round Garden Table", in which experts come together: inside and interested parties to exchange ideas about garden management, educational opportunities and climate silence. Particular attention was paid to the promotion of natural and sustainable gardens as well as the extraction of colleagues for environmental education and nature -conscious action. Participation in the event was free of charge, and interested newcomers were cordially invited to take part.
The coordination office that the event organized was founded in 2019 and is an important contact point for those interested in education in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.
