diverse content and uses

In addition, the brochure contains extensive contact directories, useful service information and references to leisure, sports and advice. It is recommended as a reference work and offers an overview of the district on 170 pages, including health care, schools and educational institutions.

The brochure also introduces the 134 sights, including well -known places such as the Allied Museum and the Grunewald hunting lodge. The thematic contributions to social conservation areas and for business development in the district are particularly worth mentioning. Civil society plays an important role, which is illustrated by the presentation of clubs and civil society organizations in the brochure. In the context of the urgently needed civic engagement, the importance of volunteers is also pointed out, which are active in many areas, for example in schools and contribute to the formation of skills.

Special events and anniversaries

Local anniversaries are also recognized in the brochure: The tennis club Grün-Weiß Nikolassee e.V. celebrates its hundred years in 2025, while the Zehlendorf theater play group "Schattenlichter" can look back to 40 years. The singing ensemble "Benecantemus" of the Leo-Borchard music school plans, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the city partnership with Cassino, a trip to Italy in 2024.

The district office Steglitz-Zehlendorf has published this informative brochure in cooperation with the Aperçu Verlagsgesellschaft mbH. It is available free of charge in citizens' offices, town halls and public libraries. It can also be downloaded from the district's publication database or ordered by post. The next issue of the district brochure is expected in spring 2027.

to successfully cope with the social challenges, such as the digital change and aging of society addressed in the brochure, a strong civil society engagement is essential. The public education system is sometimes under pressure, which underlines the need for public and private partnerships in order to stabilize the educational landscape. This is also illustrated by the studies of the Center for Civil Society Research at the WZB, which deals with the value and diversity of civic engagement in educational contexts.

The brochure is not only an informative guide through the district, but also an invitation to all citizens to actively participate in social life.
