The main character of the piece is the focus and reflects its first person fixation, which should encourage the audience to think about the pitfalls of individualism. The talented Jel Woschni and dramaturgy is led by Corinna Huber. A 45-minute introduction before the performance is also offered via the dramaturge.

performance details

The performances start at 7 p.m. and are free of charge, whereby registration is required to receive tickets. The piece will have a total duration of about 130 minutes, including a break. In the cozy atmosphere of the room theater, visitors can expect a profound examination of social issues and individual struts.

The Zimmertheater Tübingen has a long tradition, founded in 1958 and since then as a "Institute for Theater Future Research". It is considered the smallest city theater in Germany and is a member of the German stage association. Under the current artistic direction of Peer Mia Ripberger and his husband Dieter Ripberger, who will leave the theater in spring 2024, the theater relies on sociopolitical discourses in his unit developments. It is interesting that in 2024 it was nominated for a medical thriller for the renowned Faust Prize-an indication of the relevance of the topics that are treated at the room theater.

artistic direction and future

Peer Mia Ripberger, born in 1987, has already made a name for himself as a director and author across Europe. With a degree in "Staging of the Arts and the Media", he sharpened his skills in theater, literature, philosophy and cultural policy and also realized numerous premieres and projects. The Tübingen Zimmertheater, where he served as a co-director together with Dieter Ripberger, was included in the German Stage Association in 2019 and has received a number of significant awards and nominations since then.

The upcoming performances of "more people as a seaman" not only offer an insight into the creative work of Ripberger, but also the opportunity to deal with the larger social issues that are often lost in our modern ways of life. Against the background of the current financial challenges, with cuts of up to 26 percent, this production may mark the last performance under the current artistic direction.
