ISEK for Zehlendorf-Mitte: Start of the workshop procedure on November 29, 2023

The planning office "S.T.E.R.N. Gesellschaft der Hautsamen Urban renewal mbH" was commissioned to create the "Integrated Urban Development Concept" (ISEK). The ISEK forms the basis for being included in the urban development program "Living Centers and Quarters" and receiving funding. Zehlendorf-Mitte (the area around the Zehlendorf and Zehlendorf Eiche S-Bahn station) was selected in July this year by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living. The aim is the definition of measures to be met with a variety of uses.

The ISEK is to be completed by the end of 2024. This includes a classic strengths of weaknesses with the development of the potential and risks, the drawing up of a mission statement and, as a result, planning of measures with a cost and financing overview. The processing process takes place in close cooperation with the district specialist offices and a multiple participation of the public as part of a so -called workshop process. Workshops, tours and conversations that take place with associations and initiatives are planned.

District City Councilor Patrick Steinhoff commented on this project and emphasized the importance of citizen participation. He is pleased that the planning office S.T.E.R.N. It was commissioned for this process and announced that on November 29, 2023 from 6 p.m. the workshop procedure will take place in the Citizens' Hall of the City Hall of Zehlendorf. There, all interested citizens have the opportunity to actively contribute to the first ideas. This exchange with the local population is an important part of the ISEK process.
