Strengther confirmed: Great Britain remains away from the EU

On an official visit to Berlin, British Prime Minister Keir Strander once again emphasized that a return to the European Union is excluded. During a press conference with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Strander said that after many years of conservative government, it was time to redesign relationships with Europe and the EU. However, he made it unambiguously clear that this did not mean to undo Brexit or to return to the EU customs union or the internal market.

Straße also referred to the discussion about a youth mobility program that is aiming for Germany for the entire EU. He made it clear: "We have no plans for a Youth Mobility Scheme, but plans for a closer relationship." This statement is intended to emphasize that despite the desire for reinforced connections, the basic Brexit decisions are not questioned. The Prime Minister also rejected the claims of the conservative opposition, which accused him of secretly striving for Britain's return.

restart between Great Britain and the EU

During the joint appearance with Scholz, Strauber emphasized that the relationships between Great Britain and the EU are still strong. Scholz recalled that the citizens made a "historical decision" in the United Kingdom in 2016, and that both countries want to remain powerful in linking their relationships despite the geopolitical changes.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the current government should not only focus on the aspects that the citizens have expressed in the Brexit vote, but also to the opportunity to expand the partnership in other areas. Strander admitted that trust and cooperation are important pillars for the future relationship between Great Britain and the EU.

The negotiations between the two sides have recently received new impulses, with Straßer hoping for close cooperation in different areas, without revising the Brexit itself. At a time when many European countries pull together to master economic and social challenges, the focus of Starmer clearly goes into a new direction of cooperation based on common interests.

With this clear announcement during his visit to Berlin, Strandmer wanted to illustrate the national and international point of view of his government: Great Britain remains outside the Union, but strives for constructive relationships and far-reaching cooperation with Europe. Thinking about future projects and programs could be of great importance for British society.
