On October 4, 2025, an important city partnership will be signed in the city of Werder (Havel) in Brandenburg. The mayor of Werder, Manuela Saß (CDU), and Mayor Stefan Rosemann from Siegburg in North Rhine-Westphalia will seal the official contract at the former border crossing Marienborn, near Helmstedt.

The connection between the two cities has existed for 35 years. The long -term relationship is not only characterized by the exchange of citizens, but also by the active support of the Siegburgers in building the administration in Werder after the fall of the wall. This partnership has developed over the years through private contacts and the cooperation of carnival societies.

Intensification of cooperation
