Locking of Grunerstraße on Alexanderplatz towards the east: Construction work is progressing
From Monday, July 17, 2023, the above -ground Grunerstraße on Alexanderplatz will be closed to the east for traffic. This blocking is expected to continue until the end of the summer vacation. Drivers will have to dive into the tunnel during this time. The blocking is necessary to connect Littenstraße to the Grunerstrasse laid last year.
The transport administration recommends that the drivers to bypass the area as large as traffic disabilities can be expected. Pedestrians and cyclists are not affected by the restrictions.
However, two bus lines are redirected in an eastern direction. Line 248 runs over the Mühlendamm, Stralauer Straße and Alexanderstrasse. Line 300 runs over Spandauer Straße, Rathausstraße, Breite Straße, Mühlendamm, Stralauer Straße and Alexanderstrasse.
Despite the large permanent construction site in Mitte, there is now progress. The new ornament plaster in front of the old coin has been completed. A total of 27,000 square meters of building land was won by laying Grunerstrasse.
The freed-cleared areas, such as Jüdenstraße and Stralauer Straße, are gradually being examined for possible world war bombs and other archaeological finds. According to the investigations, trees are planted there. The completion of the main road train is planned for mid -2024.
The relevant topics on this construction site and blocking are: Alexanderplatz, construction site, Berlin traffic and closure.
